I align tracks this way:Select the track to be moved and make sure all other tracks are not selected. Play to the point where you want the selected track to be aligned and press p for pause. Press the left square bracket to position the cursor at that point. Alternatively, you can press alt-a to both stop and position the cursor. Press alt-t followed by a and c to moved the selected track to that point. This will get you close, but probably not exact. To refine the alignment, you can press control-F6 and tab over to the select time spin box and move the time by milliseconds. I usually move by 100 milliseconds each time either forward or backward to get the sync just right. After each change in time, press control-F6 twice to get back to the tracks and again press alt-t followed by a and c to realign. Listen to see where you are at that point. After two or three attempts, you should have it positioned nicely.

Hi! I heard the podcast at http://www.theaudacitytopodcast.com/29 where the guy talks about moving tracks around so they can be synced if they are not correctly aligned. Can we do this in Audacity without using a mouse? In more practic use: A friend of mine and I want to make some recordings talking about different topics. Instead of recording this via SKype etc. it would be great if we could record ourselves with our own microphones. Then I could combine them in Audacity. The only thing I can't figure out is if I can sync the tracks. Thanks in advance for any answer.
