Hi Donna,
Yes, I saw your other post where you outlined some of your concerns. I guess my 
response was aimed more at the other side of the argument that you had said you 
were involved in, and not at your side, or you 
personally. I've paid for books from the Baen publishing site; I wish they'd 
put more up there. I'd sooner pay a few bucks for a webscription book than take 
the several hours to scan and clean the text for myself. I am 
sorry that authors aren't getting paid. Then again, they're not getting paid 
when I borrow a book from my library, then my next door neighbor does the same, 
and the woman down the street and across town etc.  I'll bet 
if we knew the amount an author actually received for that 25 dollar first 
edition hard back book we just bought, we'd be chagrinned in the extreme. Same 
goes for performing artists vis-a-vis the big conglomerate 
music publishing companies. But that's another topic, not for this list.
