Hi Ann,
I don't know if this will help at all, but when I am checking in a book, the browse button will not pop up for me in my IE8 until I arrow down to the edit line of the comments section, then arrow back. Only then does the browse button appear. Weird, huh? Hope this helps!

Ann Petrous,

I just used a different browser and got my book checked in. I was using
Firefox. I have no idea if it was just a coincidence or Firefox has a
problem. The site may just have had enough users log off. It also took a
long time to check it in. So, I don't have a fix.

i just renewed one of the books that was just about to expire. I'm
going to try to check the book in in the next few days, if it doesn't
work, i will let you know. i really don't want to stop volunteering as
a result. I have three books i've been trying to check in, and so far,
no luck. tim, if you fix the problem before i do, let me know what you
did to fix it.

that's what it does to me too. I've never had this problem before
either. I'm going to ry, and rew the book, and then try checking it in
again.

HI Tim,

Sometimes it takes forever and a day to check in books. Sometimes it's
due
to slow internet speeds on the part of the uploader's internet
connection.
And sometimes it's because the Bookshare web site is taking forever and
a
day to do what it does. I suggest waiting a while and seeing if it's
better
in a few hours, or maybe even a few minutes.

If the problem persists for more than a day, I'd guess that your
internet
provider is way scary slow, or something else on your end.

I had this problem for many reasons in the last few months. I first got
annoyed with the sluggishness of the Bookshare web site, which
sometimes is
justified. But I had to take back my annoyance when my internet
provider
admitted that there was indeed, and had been for weeks, a sluggishness
problem in my area due to something electrical that I don't begin to
understand.

Just keep trying, and if it doesn't improve within the next day, let us
know. Maybe you're not alone and Bookshare can help.

Mayrie

Hi All,

I am unable to check in a book. Just above the address bar, it says
"connecting". Nothing happens, the icon just spins continuously. I know
someone else is having the same problem. What's going on? I've never
had a
problem before.
