Dear all,
If you're using K1K 8.01, please try to compare your optimized scanning
results with Gray-scale and 400 DPI. Many times, you will find that,
despite the optimization process, this setting works better. For those
books with varrying brightness, and page contrast issues, the Gray-scale
works well.

Tlie for the is a symptom that your brightness is set too light, while die
for the is the opposite problem. The frustration comes in when you get a
book with varying contrast and paper, such that on one page, you find an
error symptomatic of too dark, while the next page yields an error
symptomatic of too light.
