I think you are doing it just fine. The point is that when the dust jacket or back cover information is taken from a different edition it should not be included in the submission, but rather, just in the external synopsis.

I personally always put everything before the body of text, but as I say, I always indicate where it comes from in brackets such as [front cover] followed by any pertinent text or picture descriptions.
Let me know and I will reform my ways if I should be no longer including this information. I do, however, think it would be a tremendous loss.
