Hi, I'm proofreading a science fiction book and I want to know its
style. I'm having an interesting time proofreading this book so far as
my screen reader isn't always reading right to the end of the line. When
I reach the next line (or so I guess), what I hear doesn't always gibe
with what is apparently at the end (so called) of the previous line. I
want to know what could be the cause of this and how it can be
corrected. I tried changing the custom size of the page, but I'm
wondering if this based on something else? I'm not suffering from the
proliferating page break syndrome on this one (thank God for that!), but
I'm stymied about what is going on with the file and if there is
anything that can be done to correct it. The scan so far is great, but I
need help and am not sure what the problem might be here. Would the
style of the book or file detract from ease of proofreading? Regards,
Kim Friedman. P.S.: The book I'm working on is New Legends by Greg Bear.
K.
