Hi, Carrie, the spelling of q-u-e-a-n is Scottish in origin and means (if I have this correct) a young girl or female. Come to think of it, Quen may refer to a woman. So no, I doubt it was misspelled. Mr. Jacques is from the north of England and since he knows and is familiar with the dialects of that area, I suspect his spelling was deliberate.
