Hi E, One thing to keep in mind is that, even with K1k's excellent upgrade policy replacing Openbook with K1k costs around $500. I know that I for one would not find it easy to come up with this amount of money. So even if an Openbook user agrees that K1k is preferable and would like to switch, it may not be possible. Whenever I talk with someone who is going to be getting OCR for the first time, I do highly recommend K1k and explain why it's so great. But I don't want to make Openbook users feel like their scans aren't good enough because that isn't the case. K1k makes it a lot easier to prepare excellent scans, but it can be done with Openbook too, it just takes more work.
