You are absolutely right and I deeply apologize for not having a one-directional volunteer-only communication set up sooner. Jake and John Glass are working on that now. That, and updating the Volunteer Manual, are their two top priorities at this time. I will be working on a one-directional newsletter mailing to all members as well and that will be revived in the next couple of months too. If people spent more time validating, and less time writing and reading the endless chat of this list, surely Step 1 would shrink. Just looking at the subject lines of the last 2 days, very few seem to have anything at all to do with our real work. That is, if one can judge by subject lines, which is in itself a wild assumption. I am begging admin to revive the newsletter that Gustavo used to send out periodically. Then those of us who are tired of 100 messages a day or more could leave this list, and still be up-to-date with what we really need to know to do our validating or submitting in the best way, and keep up with general Bookshare news, like website enhancements and such.
