Wow!I tried your suggestion and it didn't work. However, I also noticied some other strange things so I exported the book to a text file. I then imported it back into the .rtf file and spell checking now works correctly. Must have been something nasty in that data.
Now, for those who are probably screaming that exporting and importing .rtf files to and from text files messes up the paging, it doesn't if you do it right. I first convert all ^ms to the string [page break]. Then when I import it back in I convert all [page break] strings to ^m. I have done it lots of times and it works very well.

Dan: This probably has 2 do w/jaws not recognizing the highlight color of the misspelled word. Simply put your jaws cursor on a misspelled word (create a document w/1 misspelled word 2 make it easy) then press ctrl insert h, & enter on all 3 prompts. C if that doesn't help u. I started to do a spell check on the book. When the spelling dialog comes up Haws tells me I am in the misspelled word field but it doesn't read themisspelled word. It does read the label for the field but not the word. I am using the latest upgrade to Jaws. Has anyone else seen this? Thanks.
