Shelley, I think you made a very good point, i.e., about how helpful it can be to know who submitted something. Since being part of this discussion group and seeing all the questions that have come up where people need information about books submitted, I've come to realize how helpful knowing who submitted a book can be. The identity question is answered not when one submits a book, as I recall, but when one signs up to be a volunteer on bookshare. I seem to remember that there was a place to check if you wanted your name listed or not. When I first signed up, I checked not, not because of privacy reasons but because I didn't need or want any kind of credit. It didn't occur to me that the identification would serve other useful purposes. When I began to see the latter, I asked Jesse to change my anonymous status, and he did. I mention this only to explain why I think the identity as A Bookshare Volunteer is there. It may be a wish for privacy, or not wanting any kind of credit, or simply that someone didn't see or didn't check the line that says his/hername can be listed. Maybe the purpose or usefulness of identification can be conveyed to volunteers when they sign up.
