Gerald, I think his books are only worth reading if you can get them
in audio, preferably as his readings. You lose something in the
translation otherwise. I'm trying to remember the title that I read
from NLS. It's something like Don't Bend Over In The Garden Granny,
Them Taters Have Eyes. He had a way of talking about even the most
controversial issues with humor that was really funny and didn't
descend into the gutter. His newspaper column was always fun to
read. I miss the thrill of his new contributions to our world.
And yes, it amuses me to hear Ms. Buzzard pronounce her name. To be
fair, I'd probably do it too if I were in her place because of how
our culture views buzzards. If that's her maiden name, she probably
got a lot of teasing while growing up.

I heard Grizzard speak at MS State once. He was great at telling stories. I'm not as enthused about his books, however.
