I really have enjoyed my Victor stream.
I use audible books on it and other mp3 audio books as well as NLS books and the sam voice for bookshare books.

You can also use text aloud to convert text bookshare books to mp3 I am told

I would think that a lot depends on how you plan to use the stream. If it is primarily to read NLS books, then there is no voice problem. But if you plan to depend on Victor's voices to read Bookshare books and are unable to convert them to MP3 files through Kurzweil, for instance, then I can appreciate your problem. Have you look at the archives on the Accessworld web site for the training session done by Ann Parsons? I haven't because I already have a Victor Stream but the quality of her training I know to be excelent and this may help you decide which device to purchase.

The sound of the stream scares me immensely. However, with APH no longer
producing the book port, and Springer Design being very iffy about putting
out a new courier, I'm beginning to think it may be the only option. So, I
am slowly turning my mind in that direction, but it is a very, very slow
process.

Thanks Larry,

Strange how when I did a search on APH's site for port it didn't find that
page.

Hi all,

I am considering purchasing one of these devices. I have noticed a
number of you mentioning using them. I have tried to find a web site
where I could hear demos of their sound. However, i am failing to do so.

Is there anyone out there who would have the ability to record their
devices into an mp3 file and send it to me? I'd really like to hear how
they sound before I buy one.

I was going to get a Victor Stream but it sounded so bad I decided not to
at this time.

Thanks for any help.
