Hi Evan, Thank you for answering my question. No, unfortunately I’m not getting a Braille display with it. Maybe next Christmas! But unless they've upgraded the processors in the newer ones, (and if you are not getting one of those newer ones), don't try doing any global search and replace operations. You'll be waiting a long time for it to get done. If it's a long book, then you'll be waiting a really really long time. Is the braille display that attaches to it going to be part of the package? If so, and if you're a braille reader, you'll really like proofreading that way. The Pac Mate has an on-the-fly braille translator in it. It isn't perfect, but it's pretty good. You'll be able to proofread your rtf files in grade 2 braille. It's great. You'll be able to make corrections as you read along. You just have to remember to enter the corrections in computer braille, not grade 2 braille. With a little practice, you'll get the hang of it and it'll become second nature to you. (Actually, come to think of it, you'll need to enter corrections in computer braille even if you're reading without the braille display. If you don't know computer braille, you'll need to learn it to make corrections in the rtf files.) By the way, this is not an OT question. My question is this: Can I proofread the rtf files from the Bookshare check-out list just as it is, or do I need to purchase something else for the Pac Mate? Thanks so much for your suggestions!
