Hi Kim, At the moment, having a permanent link for proofreaders to renew their books is not an option. Alisa currently has a request to the engineers to fix the system so that we can send out the reminder emails three days before a book will expire and make the renewal link available for those three days. While I know this might not be ideal, at least you'll have a chance to renew books any time in those three days, which is better than the current option. I agree that a permanent link is a great idea, but unfortunately, with the amount of work for the engineering department to do, we have to make some compromises. I just received an email notice telling me of my need to renew what I'm working on. As I have every intention of finishing what I start, I immediately went to the Volunteer Home on the Bookshare web site and attempted to renew my book. Unfortunately the link wasn't there. I expect I'll have to wait until midnight to do this. I hope the engineering geniuses can somehow contrive that the renewal link can remain so a proofreader can renew a book without worry of missing out. Regards, Kim Friedman.
