Hi Tim,We bought a brand new Toshiba laptop through Sam's club online with a 350 Gb hard drive, 16 inch screen, fast AMD chip, 2 Gb RAM, a DVD burner, wireless and regular networking built in, all kinds of ports and bells and whistles with windows 7 factory installed for $388 total including shipping and a 3-year warranty. Sams Club has some really good prices on new laptops and desktop computers, and that might be another option for you, if you can't find a good cheap used computer.

Hi Tim,Glad you're back. Hope you can find a computer you like and can afford when the time comes. I've bought my last several off of eBay. No operating system installed, quad core, 4 gb ram, with card reader for just over $400 after shipping. If you can install your own copy of Windows, or whatever operating system you like, that's a really cheap way to go. Just a suggestion. In case it helps. Hi All,We have a winner!! Jamie's guess was correct. My power supply died (just because I used to leave it on all the time, why should it die?) (grin)It's a very old Dell, 8 to 10 years. I was advised that in about another 6 months it will kaput for good. I'll have to start saving for a good used one. It's also getting slow because of age.Well, I'm back for now, anyway. I can proof for awhile longer. Tim
