My least favorite pronunciation of a word using JAWS with Eloquence is does.
The word is a legitimate homophone as it can mean the plural of female dear
or, when the pronunciation is duz, is a form of to do. I would think it
would default to the duz pronunciation as just how many times does a JAWS
user engage in any sort of dialogue regarding deer. I know few hunters with
vision impairment and absolutely no venison farmers in the community. Why
it hasn't been fixed in about 20 updates and upgrades and hot fixes of JAWS
sort of boggles the mind.

I had a weird thing happen while proofing a book the other day. I came
across the word spelled "U N S H E D". My synthesizer kept saying "unched
tears", as in lunched. I spend a good while thinking about this word and
trying to figure out this mystery word which apparently was correct in spell
check! Unched, unched, unched! What the heck is that! Well, it took some
sighted help and a whack on the side of the head to finally figure out the
word was supposed to be pronounced "un-shed" Of course "un-shed tears makes
perfect sense". But it had me going crazy.
