I decided not to ask the questions I had in mind, upon further consideration. I think they're covered both in the manual and in my post. The manual mentions retaining tabs and spaces in the headings and putting them in if necessary to keep the headings uniform so the stripper can stripper. Is it not the case any more that tabs and spaces are deleted/ Can we use them now to position charts and graphs and lists and the table of contents? There has been some discussion here about paragraphs--whether they should be indented, or have skipped lines between them or whether nothing at all should be done because BRF automatically puts in spaces; it doesn't make any difference to Daisy; and spaces or tabs get deleted anyway. I use a the First Line indent in Special in Paragraph in Format to set indentations, but if if they aren't retained, or if skipping a line between them is preferable, I'll change my practice. Since print books have indented paragraphs I should think they should be retained, but I've been asked to get an official answer.
