It does make some difference, simply because anyone can open an rtf file. So that makes the chances better that your book will get validated faster if it is in rtf format. If it is in Kurzweil or Word format, then only people who have those programs can open them. That decreases the number of people who can validate the book, so it will probably take longer. Since both the programs you use can save files in rtf format, it would be easy for you to submit books in that format so anyone who wants to can validate them. It will almost certainly speed things up for your books. For my personal scanning needs I usually do my OCR with FineReader Pro 8.0 and save books as a Word document. I've been sending them in that way. I do have an older version of Kurzweil 3000 (v8) with an older version of FineReader as the OCR engine. Does it make a difference to validators which file type you get to help you validate? Do you have a preference for Kuzweil or Word files? Or does it make any difference? Jim Nuttall--Michigan
