Hello Elizabeth and all,

I would ask you to focus on one of the words you used in your own post:
"seems." As blind people, we should all know that appearances are
deceiving. I've said this before in my messages. And, I'll say it again.
Businesses are not always required to tell users/volunteers everything that
is happening within the organization. Bookshare certainly needs
improvements; and believe me when I tell you or when Gerald or Jake or
Kellie tells you that Bookshare is more than aware of all the bugs, feature
requests, and general frustrations.

I would ask people to go back and actually examine statements that bookshare
has made regarding the staff who have been hired within the last year and
their areas of focus before trying to project your own expectations and
misunderstandings on their job functions.

If you haven't seen the Benetech web site in a while, you'll notice that
Bookshare has job notices up for engineers. For those of you who are not
aware, it is these Engineers who make things happen behind the scenes by
taking the concepts and ideas that come from various sources. If you are an
engineer or know engineers interested in this kind of work, please feel free
to forward these job descriptions. Sooner these positions are filled, the
sooner work can continue/start.

Pratik

Some of us old folks run effective projects so just you be careful now
(smile)

all the best and remember that when you get older and work for other people
less you will have more time to validate for bookshare. And do all let's
remember that the word here is share. I as a volunteer do not feel shared
with in building what I thought of as a co-operatively created library we
can all enjoy.

I have sounded angry. I have been saying the same things for a long period
(over two years) and perhaps grow impatient. I am sad and concerned about
what seems to be happening (and not happening).

A lot of good will is being handled in what seems a cavalier way simply by
not much happening over months and months on the same set of related issue.
