Hey, I totally forgot about Guido. Is he still around? I remember he was there when I was subscribed to this list a few years ago.

I used to write blank page in brackets until Pratik, I think, or Guido of Gustavo--someone with a sense of humor, pointed out that as soon as I wrote that the page wasn't blank any more. Now, if the page is included in the pagination, Ijust put the number with a blank line before and after. If it has an illustration I write the illustration. Usually the only blank pages that aren't included in the numbering are the ones preceding the main text. Carrie, I think, said we didn't have to include those, but when I do I just leave it totally blank--page break hit return, page break.Cindy--- On Fri, 8/15/08, Paula and James Muysenberg <outofsightlife@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:From: Paula and James Muysenberg <outofsightlife@xxxxxxxxx> Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Don't worry! and 2 questions To: "Bkvol" <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Friday, August 15, 2008, 6:50 PM I never add the words "blank page". I just make sure the page number is there. I haven't downloaded a book in ages, but has anyone run iinto a problem, when blank pages are not marked as such? I always thought it was unnecessary to point out something that is pretty obvious. Sighted people don't seem to need any such phrase to indicate a blank page, so I don't see why blind or print impaired people would need one either. The braille translator, and it seems braille translators in general, don't like spaces between the periods. The elipsis doesn't translate correctly if the periods have spaces between them. Not all of the meta-data is correct, so we will be correcting it over the next few days. No need to tell us about it, we know! We'll take care of it, we promise. And we'll be putting in some Open E-books into the collection in the next few days too. We have made special arrangements to put in e-books, please don't add your e-books to the collection. 2) I don't remember what the final conclusion was, about what symbols to add around the phrase "blank page" on blank pages? Did you all agree on angle brackets (<>) or square brackets ([])? 3) The other thing I don't recall is about 3 dots in a row. Should they have spaces between them (. . .) or not (...)? Thanks for your help!
