Hi Jill: I forgot to tell you that once you delete the extra pages you probably should save the file as kes in case the problem of additional pages persists. ----- Original Message ----- From: Kellie Hartmann To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, September 03, 2006 7:48 PM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: blank pages Hi Jill, If Grace's suggestion doesn't work, maybe you could try deleting smaller chunks of the blank pages at a time. Start with just a few, and if that causes a crash you'll know there's a real problem with the file. If deleting 10 pages or so together works, try 50, then 100, and so on. The way Kurzweil deals with text makes each page a separate unit which has to be deleted separately by the program, although not by the user. So deleting 600 pages at once is going to take a while even when the pages are blank and even if you have a fast computer. After you press delete, do you hear a lot of noise from your hard drive? If so, the procedure is working. Hth, Kellie P.S. If none of these suggestions work and your Kurzweil is really crashing because of this file, we can help you send it to Stephen Baum from Kurzweil and he can figure out what's going on with it.
