Noel, I think Bookshare buys almost all of them and ships them out, but I'm not sure.

I do know that when I sent a huge stack of books to be scanned to Bookshare (quite some time ago), they sent many of the books on to outsourcers so that they would get in the collection a lot faster than if staff in California had done the scanning.

Hey Guys,

Just as a curiosity thing, can anyone tell me where the groups that
outsource books for bookshare get the raw books from? The reason why
I ask is because they seem to be getting books from many different
subject areas. Does bookshare buy all of these books or are they
donated? It's just amazing how many new books they process and I
wonder how bookshare gets all of these hardcopy books and sends them
to the outsourcers.

Thanks.

Noel
