The impression that I get is that rather than shipping the hardcopies out 
to the outsourcers Bookshare scans them and the outsourcers proofread them. 
On the other hand, I think that some outsourcers must contribute some books 
themselves. 
Worth Trust has been contributing a lot of books of Indian literature 
lately and since Worth Trust is located in India it stands to reason that they 
are getting the books from India.

Noel, I think Bookshare buys almost all of them and ships them out, but I'm 
not sure.I do know that when I sent a huge stack of books to be scanned to 
Bookshare
(quite some time ago), they sent many of the books on to outsourcers so 
that they would get in the collection a lot faster than if staff in California
