Hi all:

After I started this little project I begin to have some questions.
1. Do we put all books that take place around Christmas time?
2. Do we include all genres? (IE) Mysteries, romance, fantasy, etc?
Also I noticed that some books have Christmas in the title but no synopsis. So I can't verify that takes place around Christmas. Do we include those?
So if I am to proceed with this I need some feed back from you guys.
Remember as long as Jake keeps his site up, next year we will already have Christmas category all compiled. We can think of it as another step toward improving the bookshare community.

Grace

PS. I already added Shepherd's abiding to the list.

Grace,

If you're going to include books like Deck the Halls from Mary Higgins Clark
and Carol Higgins Clark, then consider adding Visions of Sugar Plums by
Janet Evanovich. It's one of her Stephanie Plum novels which happens to
have a Christmas theme. A toymaker by the name of Sandy Claws is in
violation of his bond agreement, and bounty hunter Stephanie Plum spends her
Christmas trying to bring him in. As you can see, it's a bit whacky, but
then all of the books in this series are.

One of the J. D. Robb books also occurs at Christmas. In Holiday in Death,
someone is going around killing people dressed as Santa Claus. Eve Dallas
must stop him before he commits the twelve murders of Christmas.

There's also a short story collection called Silent Night which has a
Christmas theme. It contains four short stories which are all supposedly
mysteries which take place at Christmas time. The only one without a
holiday title happens to be the one by J. D. Robb, but it happens to be the
only one I read, and it does take place at Christmas.

Whether or not you include the titles above, Shepherds Abiding by Jan Karon
needs adding to the list if it's not already there.

Also don't forget

"He Sees You When You are Sleeping and

the other Christmas books by the Clarks.

I have Deck the Halls scanned and will submit it, not sure when.

Angels in the Snow is a cute one, I liked it,

Stacey:

Donna posted these a few weeks ago.
Also someone mentioned something about angels in the snow. Not quite sure of
the title.

Hi all,
For those interested, just thought I'd post a listing of a few of the Xmas
books in the bookshare collection that I know of that don't have Christmas
in the title:
Miracle, by Connie Willis. A really fun collection of Christmas short
stories.
Angel's Roost, romance novel involving an angel. Begins at Thanksgiving and
goes through New Years.
Last Noel,Haven't read it but it sounded good when NPR reviewed it.
Shepherd's Abiding by Jan karon. Part of the Mitford series, Father Tim
takes on the project of fixing up an old nativity set.
These are just a few that I have come across. If I come up with more I'll
post them.
Happy reading,
Donna

Hi Sue,
Thanks so much.
It sure would be nice if there were a section for Christmas books.

Hi Stacey,

I just typed Christmas in the simple search and got 84. However, that is
only the ones that have the word in the title. Except there is an author
named Christmas Carol Kaufman so a book by her was in that list.
