I go with your last point that it is easiest, in my opinion best, not to
worry too much about proper categorization.
The point of such a list is to provide a potential target list of
books to read and to consider.
The reader can determine for themselves if the supplied descriptions is of
interest once they click onto a title.
Differentiating too much will cause confusion and inadvertently folks
might just miss something they otherwise might have chosen to read.
Typically, a library cataloging system will not attempt to place an
individual book into a single category but rather try to attempt to hit
enough categories where potential readers might find them.
Hence, attempting to narrow too closely could hurt more than aid.
