Hi Charisma, Oh, yes, image description is all right, even desirable! A couple of things though. First, present the description of photos like this, please: [Picture description: A man walking a dog.] Or whatever the picture is. That is, surround the picture description with brackets, and include that you are describing a picture, similarly with a graph, or chart, or other image that won't translate to text. Also, if the pages in the middle of the book follow the page numbering, you can include the picture descriptions on the exact pages on which they appear in the book. However, as is often the case, the photos in the center of books appear on pages that aren't numbered. For example there is text on page numbered 80, then 8 pages of photos, and then text resumes, but that page on which text resumes is numbered 81. In this case, please place photo descriptions at the end of the book so that page numbering won't be disrupted. Thanks for even considering describing pictures! That really is a wonderful enhancement of books! I thought we could not add anything and I was wondering because I have a book that has a large middle section of photos but the captions don't do them justice. >if the images are important to the text, it is a good idea to find either a scanner >or proofer who can include image descriptions.
