Well, my error was not that I gave wrong instructions; it was that I 
said - instead of -.
That's what you arror down to. The instructions with the ^+ doesn't 
work on my computer; this one does.

Hi Ann,

         Okay, here's the keyboard version of G. Cindy's
instructions.  Cindy Lou's weren't quite right.  It isn't the dash,
but the em dash that you want to replace, right?

Control-h to open find and replace
In the find field type caret plus which is shift number 6 followed
immediately by the shifted equals sign
In the replace box type two dashes with no space between.
Tab to "replace all" and hit enter.
Save your changes.
