  What version of K1000 are you using.  Table issues are handled differently in 
older versions than version 12.

  I am scanning a text book for my class, but if I can get it to scan better, 
I'll probably submit it. I have all the settings set so that it should scan 
nicely, but it really doesn't.

  I use K1000, and the tables scan terribly. Maybe there's a setting I'm 
forgetting?
