I haven't read the K1000 updated manual, but there are settings for table
recognition in both recognition settings and reading settings.  Are both
instances enabled for you?  Also, if I remember correctly, column
recognition is supposed to be disabled when scanning tables.  If you're
scanning a textbook that is printed in columns I certainly see how that
would be a problem.
 
I don't have any answers, unfortunately, but you could play with the various
table reading settings and see if they make a difference in what kind of
results you get.
 
Please let us know if you find any luck getting better results.

What version of K1000 are you using.  Table issues are handled differently
in older versions than version 12.

I am scanning a text book for my class, but if I can get it to scan better,
I'll probably submit it. I have all the settings set so that it should scan
nicely, but it really doesn't.
 
I use K1000, and the tables scan terribly. Maybe there's a setting I'm
forgetting?
