This is why I don't take time to scan much as there are so many things you can and should tweak and I've never had time to learn this stuff. I'm a medical transcriptionist, I proof all day, but thanks for the compliment. I found out that the file is a read only file and I don't know how to change this, so am not sure what I can do with this book after all. Hi Jamie, I would definitely fix hyphens where they shouldn't be. And ifyou're worried that something isn't right, you're likely right. Trust yourknowledge of how the English language works, and your intuition about dialogue and I think you'll do swimmingly.Also, if settings aren't set correctly in the OCR software, words that wereoriginally split on two lines won't have the connecting hyphens removed. It's definitely okay, in my opinion to remove improperly placed hyphens unless they reflect some sort of dialogue. Just my opinion.
