Hi Mike,

Bookshare's braille translator currently only deals with literary braille,
hence translating the degrees symbol to the word, and the superscript to
words is necessary if our braille only users are to be allowed access to the
entire content of the book. If it is a math or science textbook where these
things occur tons of times, I'm not sure what should be done. With
cookbooks, the degrees symbol is ALWAYS translated to the word. I think
that if the symbol indicated by super or subscripts are few, please do
translate them to words.

Mayrie

If there are only two occurrences, I'd definitely use Jamie's technique. If
there are many occurrences, such as in a math or chemistry textbook, I fix
them to have the correct superscripts/subscripts.

There is a degree symbol, so you shouldn't use a superscript o or 0 for
that. Nemeth (math) braille also has a degree symbol, but I don't know if
the bookshare converter knows to make the correct substitution.
