I also quickly scan the list of subjects next to the list of people in the From list. But unless there's a message to do with formatting, e.g. the enlarging the first letter in a sentence or an OT personal note, (or one of your sometimes controversial posts, there's nothing I'm likely to miss, especially when I look to see who the messages are from, so I won't miss a post from Alisa or Madeleine or mayrie or carrie.
