No, that is not why you have not received your email yet. It just takes a long time. If you left that window open it would just be too inconvenient to hold it open for so long. Everyone else is reporting getting the email eventually and some have waited longer than you before getting it. When the first ones took a few hours, like overnight, I was predicting that when more people found out about it and there were thousands of requests at once it might start taking as long as a week. I think we may be seeing that happening.
