If we as volunteers can figure this out, how come the presumably relatively intelligent staff and engineers have taken over two years and still step 1 2 and wish list and admin queue cannot be updatd in any way except manually and then only by one staff member with no backup?

If the list can't be updated regularly by removing books, what about changing the scann it button to a checkbox a person can check when they're going to scan a book. It would store that check so that anyone looking at the wish list could at least see that someone has marked that they're scanning the book. That way people can see the wish list and clearly see that someone has checked the box to scan the book. Since the checkbox is stored in real time, it would reduce duplication of efforts without requiring the physical intervention of John or Gustavo.
