Dear Wilfried, (and of course all others)
Now: of course it is funny that I should write to an old peer-group
buddy, friend and collegue in english! But as it belongs in this
forum I do it nevertheless.
I guess I have not quite understood what you wanted to share,
language or not.
First of all: a voice from outside... Outside of what?
Than: the "hidden censorship" via language. I have not read anywhere
that this forum was meant to be "international per se" as is meant ISCA.
I myself just took advantage of my english language skills to join-
and feel lucky I can do so. Of course the difference between you and
me is that I did and do quite a bit of work in the USA and in Canada,
and have many friends in these countries. So whenever I read the CT
mails I feel at home. And I am well aware, that some questions and
answers are culturally coloured. However: most of what touches me in
all I read is the all overall similarity when it comes to human
emotions like the basic to Constellation work itself which is:
belonging.
Maybe this is also what lies at the foundation of this whole thread
around monitoring, The threat one might loose the right to belong.
Considering the "hype about the American elections"-first of all,
Chris had pointed out, that it did not meet the guide lines, but I
was truly glad- only after some happy contributions went through. I
loved it because it was so human and also so full of "constellation
material". I did not have time than to write, but there are
happenings in the political world that touch us all deeply in all
countries. And man: we had a whole textbook of constellation material
to observe and learn from. Same with the Canadian government's
apologies. This is what I keep learning from: which action has what
effect in the bigger system that is our world.
And considering Dan's dissertation: of course there are many fine and
profound pieces of work in the world, and yet: it has another meaning
to read a dissertation of someone, who's contributions in CT have
been a source of information and learning to many. And if you know of
some other great stuff: beautiful, share it, there might be some in
english...
And: Each language of each forum always creates a reality on it's
own. And I do not mean foreign languages by this but the insider
language that evolves almost by itself. The question is, weather you
can be aware of it AND enjoy it and use it for your own learning. And
that again is, I guess, anybody's free choice.
To Nr 3:
So any forum or even an organisation like ISCA will not reflect the
international
community. By the very fact that the language is English it will
reflect basically the Anglo-
American discussion and view.
I question it, without wanting to go into it more deeply. What I do
see however is: whenever we represent ourselves in a language other
than our own, we do not have as much strength (to some degree) than
using our own language. So, we come from a place of more weekness,
which can make us feel more insecure, and that can change a whole
conversation, unless we are aware of it!
And: not feeling represented on the ISCA webpage can have so many
more reasons than language...I for example still feel foreign with
the ISCA website because I am a beauty junky and it still feels so
esthetically poor to me, which blurs my whole opinion. Only as I am
not doing anything for it, I take it as it is and wait weather I get
an impulse to go into action. Well, you said it yourself: "this of
course is not only a question of language..."
4) I think the forum is a very useful tool to connect, but not
more. And it is an
American-Australian forum, it doesn't represent or integrate
something like the
international FC community. And similar will be a blog on the ISCA
website.
To me this forum has often shown such richness and depth that I am
very grateful to Fran Boring, who already years ago had given some
sniplets to me to read, and I am so glad I finally did join.
So far I have not yet discovered anything as rich and diverse and
helpful in Germany or Italy where I also work a lot, should it
appear, I will certainly try it out. (And I am happy this forum is in
english: it is helpful to me to NOT use old language patterns and to
have to think hard how to express myself well.)
One more thing: is this still really the forum of Chris? Can a forum
like this actually belong to someone, other than being the caretaker
of it? Might be like children: they do not belong to us, merely come
trough us...Same with the constellation work itself: does it belong
to anybody? And as much as we can all bow down to the parents and
care givers of this world for all the energy they put into helping
children and projects to grow, I believe: when this forum was ready
to happen, Chris was the one to give birth to it. And -he might not
even have had any choice in it...
Thank you for your sharing, it helped me to get clearer about how
truly precious this forum is to me.
