Yes, dear colleages, the USA elections do have systemic interest. Consider
for example , the fact that Obama's election was a historical first in a
country that has a long history of enslaving black Africans. His father was an
African from Kenya and his wife has ancestors who were slaves on a plantation
in
South Carolina. At least 12 of our presidents have owned slaves, beginning
with George Washington and black slaves were an integral part of the While
house service staff. A Black man in the White House says something about a
much needed balance.
