Albrecht has kindly offered an interview with Ty Francis on his work with
Political Constellations which will appear in the next issue of The Knowing
Field. He and Brigitta have done a lot to take the constellation work
forward into the wider political arena. Daan van Kampenhout is another
person I see working at this wider macrocosm level and I'm sure there are
many others too.
For me, politics do indeed exist in every aspect of life and I have seen it
mentioned a lot on this discussion forum. In discussing politics, issues
about power will always be there either overtly or covertly.

I have noticed that the word politics stirs up both positive and negative
energy for me. I wonder if anyone has done a constellation on politics?
Doesn´t politics exist in all kinds of system such as families, the work
place, communities, different cultures and globally.
I am currently in San Christobal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico where
uprising and revolutions are commerated throughout the city and appear to be
a part of the identity of this city. Are upraising about power or about
perserving a culture or about a commuity´s way of life?
I don´t know that constellations as we do them today can answer these
questions, but I think if we start now including the idea of politics or
power dynamics in family system and in organizations we will get a better
understanding of the systemic dynamics of power and politics.
I would like to make an observation that I hope does not break the rule
about politics on this list. The response of people around the globe to
Obama´s election was a positive expression of collective wisdom. Talking
about the campaign and the specifics of electoral politics is
inappropriate. I think encouraging people to vote and voting is a civic
activity and I don´t know where that fits. Constellations and further
exploration of Collective Wisdom might tell us where a civil society
belongs.

I am reasonably new to this work and the world it encompasses. I want to
say
that CT has been such a breath of fresh air for me. While I am completely
bilingual (Spanish and English) and my entire basic training towards
becoming a FC facilitator has been done Spanish, to be able to read and
very occasionally post in English has been a Godsend. I thank Chris for
creating this group and do all that it requires to keep it moving. I too
have been a "guardian" of a professional electronic group and I have some
appreciation for the time and dedication it requires. A heartfelt Thank You
Chris!!
I would also like to extend my gratitude to all of those who post on a more
frequent basis than I. I read them all with care in a effort to learn and
understand. Frankly some resonate other do not. Not surprising.
I do resonate with the language issues that Wilfred raised. I fantasized,
on
an early morning run following his post, that like magic, and it may not be
that far off, I could belong to a group like this and presto could read the
posting in whatever language I chose. And, I could also post in any
language. Unfortunately, the automatic translators are not quite up to the
task at this time. But what a concept!!
I have been fascinated by the ebb and flow of comments regarding posting,
staying on topic, and the need to provide monitoring of messages to insure
the intention and mission of this group. I have put all the comments and
feelings therein expressed up against the "centro vacio" or "empty space"
that I have learned is crucial in the work as a facilitator. As I have
learned and have observed facilitators like Stefan, Anngwyn and of course
Bert and Gunthar as they set aside their preconceptions, personal
preoccupations and their prejudices; or so it seems to me the observer.
Obviously, I have no idea what is actually going on within the confines of
their head; but the sense I have is that is what they do. In my terms, they
have set their EGO to one side.
Many of these comments that I read flew in the face, from my reading and
understanding, of the concept of an "empty space". I have no intention to
point fingers I just reflect on the challenge that presents itself for each
of us to maintain that "empty space" in both our work and in our lives. For
I am finding that the more I practice maintaining the "empty space" in my
life the more freedom and peace I experience. And I certainly have lived
through those moments early on in my practice as a facilitator where I,
consciously or unconsciously, left the "empty space" and the work became
turgid and challenging. Likewise in life.
So, what if we experienced both CT and ISCA from the perspective of the
"empty space". Could we give and get far more from each experience
irrespective of their natural imperfections which seem to be the natural
byproduct of their human creation and operation? In Constellation work we
guide towards the participants, at a soul level, accepting what is so;
could
we do the same thing in our lives?
I am curious and wondering. What say thee?
