Often dyslexia is taken as a synonym of a complex learning difficulties

I could observe culturally based learning difficulties in children entering
Western schooling after coming from deep Africa as refugees (and there were
more than second language issues).
There are interesting researches about culture-social-shaped differences
between African children (raised in some very traditional communities in
Africa) and "westernian" children in intellectual development - the
different "wires" were not measureable by Western psychometric tools
(similar things were explored about linguistic development and brain
structures among Japanese-origin children, different if raised in USA than
in Japan).
As example - spatial orientation and the hand-motion coordination was much
higher developed among little children raised in remote Africa areas, higher
than in little children - descendants of Africans, living in Western society
for generations. In reading skills - results were opposite off course.
From an evolutional perspective - spatial intelligence and hand-motionintelligence was more crucial to survive than literacy. What is then
intelligence and thinking? An old question...
Simple differentiation: dyslectic - non-dyslectic (and who was diagnosed
with dyslexia 40 years ago?!) wouldn't give us a lot information.
But, anyway, I think it's always worth to ask questions.

I appreciate your desire for simplicity but when I went to take the survey
and read the question I sensed some ambivalence. I am a Facilitator but to
the best of my knowledge I am not dyslexic though I am not necessarily a
linear thinker and like Barbara my lead representational system is not
visual. So, what would be the truest answer to the survey.
I personally hear and feel movements in the Field.

It is estimated that 5-10% of a given population is dyslexic. The survey
results so far are quite different. Before I report the results, I would
like to encourage more people to answer the survey, especially those who
are
not dyslexic. I suspect the results are skewed because in favor of Yes,
because the question hold more interest for the dyslexics among us. If
sample is representative, the results are illustrative of a remarkable
adaptive ability.
