HI All -
Hania, I think you capture the survey results well: "Simple
differentiation: dyslectic - non-dyslectic wouldn't give us a lot of
information."
Here are those results:
Replied: 64
Dyslexic: 19 30%
Not Dyslexic 45 70%
That is ~3-6 times greater than the rate in the general population.
I can add that in addition to being dyslexic (or something), I am also
Jewish, left-handed and colorblind. Or, as someone once told me, "You can
see into people's souls, but you can't find the mayonnaise in the
refrigerator.

Subject: Re: [ConstellationTalk] RE: Dyslexic Constellation Facilitators
Hi Dan and All
I agree with Stephen that the question of dyslexia and of structure of
thinking would be more complicated.
Often dyslexia is taken as a synonym of a complex learning difficulties
issues, like a big bag with many pockets - dyslexia, dysgraphia,
dyscalculia, and few other dys...(and within each issue there is another
spectrum of intensity and different presentations).
I'm personally a good reader (no "literal" dyslexia), but I'm kind of
dysgraphic, and I'm ambidextrous. While I was working in a diagnostic centre
for learning difficulties, I've learnt a lot about a whole spectrum of these
dys...and I agree with the article mentioned by you earlier Dan, that there
is a differently wired brain structure among people who don't follow
expected developmental paths.
By the way - social labelling and general Western culture standards
regarding values of literacy skills had to affect many people...probably we
must work with these issues sometimes as facilitators.
(I like that sentence from Wikipedia " The notion of learning disabilities
has been described as evidence of Americas individualistic obsession with
self-reliance.").
I could observe culturally based learning difficulties in children entering
Western schooling after coming from deep Africa as refugees (and there were
more than second language issues).
There are interesting researches about culture-social-shaped differences
between African children (raised in some very traditional communities in
Africa) and "westernian" children in intellectual development - the
different "wires" were not measureable by Western psychometric tools
(similar things were explored about linguistic development and brain
structures among Japanese-origin children, different if raised in USA than
in Japan).
As example - spatial orientation and the hand-motion coordination was much
higher developed among little children raised in remote Africa areas, higher
than in little children - descendants of Africans, living in Western society
for generations. In reading skills - results were opposite off course.
From an evolutional perspective - spatial intelligence and hand-motion
intelligence was more crucial to survive than literacy. What is then
intelligence and thinking? An old question...
Simple differentiation: dyslectic - non-dyslectic (and who was diagnosed
with dyslexia 40 years ago?!) wouldn't give us a lot information.
But, anyway, I think it's always worth to ask questions.
Regards

I appreciate your desire for simplicity but when I went to take the survey
and read the question I sensed some ambivalence. I am a Facilitator but to
the best of my knowledge I am not dyslexic though I am not necessarily a
linear thinker and like Barbara my lead representational system is not
visual. So, what would be the truest answer to the survey.
I personally hear and feel movements in the Field.
I look forward to your published results.

Thanks to those of you who clicked on this link
to say whether or not you are dyslexic.the
It is estimated that 5-10% of a given population is dyslexic. The survey
results so far are quite different. Before I report the results, I would
like to encourage more people to answer the survey, especially those who
are
not dyslexic. I suspect the results are skewed because in favor of Yes,
because the question hold more interest for the dyslexics among us. If
sample is representative, the results are illustrative of a remarkable
adaptive ability.
It takes less than 1 minute. http://tinyurl.com/3vslsrh.
Thanks.

Subject: Dyslexic Constellation Facilitators
Hi Everyone,
My daughter Anna sent me this link to a new font designed to be easier
dyslexicread for dyslexics. http://www.pixelscript.net/gilldyslexic/. It says,
"Dyslexics have superior ability turning and flipping images in their
heads." That's pretty well describes how I create healing movements in a
Constellation.
I am wondering whether other Constellation facilitators are also
and whether these qualities contribute to our abilities to recognize
healing
movements out of chaotic family histories. Here's an article on the
subject; http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2011/09/dyslexic-advantage/.
To answer the question without clogging up everyone's in-box, I create a
one
question survey. Click the link to answer the question: Are you a
Constellation facilitator and Dyslexic? http://tinyurl.com/3vslsrh You
responses are confidential.
I'll tabulate the answers next week and report back.
All for now...
