Hi Folks,
I must say watching this video that I lived in Papua New Guinea for 2
years..about 29 years agoas my son, who is 29, was born there!
It is good to remember that Papua -only about 70 years ago- was a completely
cannibal (anthropophagus) country.
They were colonized by cristhian missionaries and the ³Forgiveness² ritual
must have come from this learning as they were
before a ferocious culture. In my time bows and arrows were all the time
crossing us on the dusty roadsas they were fighting
among each other but respected usthank God we are alive
It was an incredible experience to have lived there. Breathtaking landscape.

One of the authors in the book, Kate Dahlstedt, speaks of the
documentary *Breaking Bows and Arrows: A Search for Reconciliation and
to the ceremonial forgiveness on Bourgainville an island in what is today
Papua New Guinea.
