Gail, thank you for this fascinating view on autism and offering your view
from a homeopathic perspective. I am working on a manual with a practitioner
who specializes in the treatment of autism and has considerable success in
reversing it. I was eagerly awaiting the responses to Daniel¹s question.
The practitioner with whom I work shares the precise view you delineate and
she integrates nutrigenomic testing into her treatment. It seems that
specific genetic mutations on detoxification pathways can make it harder for
some kids to handle the multiplex exposures to infectious agents, mercury
etc. that vaccines deliver. From her practice, she has observed that these
kids are often ³the best and the brightest² because they may have more of
certain kinds of brain receptors which are associated with higher
intelligence but are more prone to damage by toxic agents.
These brain receptors are at risk for damage by excitotoxins the
synthesized flavor chemicals in many foods MSG is one example. From what
you write I¹d also wonder how cocaine acts on the brain and what part that
might play.
Someone recently told me that a new study said that PTSD (untreated) can
alter genes and get passed down to the next generation. This both serves as
a link to a biochemical reflection of the same principles we see in our
work and could also be a factor in the mutations leading to the
vulnerability to autism.
Jen, I¹m also sensing a possible association between this theme and what you
wrote in your concurrent email about puerperal fever. The discovery by
Lister that doctors were conveying disease in this manner is considered a
hallmark of the founding of modern medicine. What I never noticed until I
read your post, Jen, is that it was specifically the medicalization of
childbirth taking it from homes and bringing into hospitals where it was
facilitated by ³outside professionals² rather than family members and
midwives that had itself created the very health issue that allopathic
doctors congratulated themselves for treating.
This keynote discovery lead to the ³triumph of modern medicine² resulting in
the discovery and use of antibiotics, vaccines, and a whole host of modern
medical practices. But both at the beginning with puerperal fever and now
with vaccinations and autism the downside risks have not been given
sufficient weight.
As one of the many generations who had childhood illnesses and survived and
thrived, it¹s always been a mystery to me how over the last twenty years,
the use of so many vaccines on such young infants could become so widely
adopted.
And as I¹ve participated in dialogue with mothers about this, the reason
that people cite for making the decision to vaccinate their child often
comes down to this: ³I fear that if I don¹t vaccinate, my child might die.²
So it¹s possible that early childhood mortality is an inter-related theme,
too, Jen.
Epidemiology of earlier generations does not support the concern about a
high risk among the unvaccinated. If it did, the boomer generation would all
have died out in childhood. After twenty years of increased vaccinations,
that may have changed.
While we must also take into account medical PR, the multigenerational
ramifications of early childhood and maternal deaths can create a continuity
of fear and loss in descendents which predispose people to choices on behalf
of the next generation that end by continuing the pattern.

Hi Daniel,
I don't have a personal experience with autism, but came across this
interesting information (which may be helpful as you facilitate) today
as I was reading an interview of Miranda Castro, who works as a
homoeopath.
Some language explanations: The 'sycotic miasm' is a homoeopathic term
indicating a particular health pattern of genetic inheritance. When she
talks about 'proving', the term means that the substance has been made
into a homoeopathic remedy and taken by healthy volunteers until it
produced symptoms. There is sometimes a correlation between childhood
vaccinations, especially the Measles/Mumps/Rubella injection, and the
onset of autistic symptoms which is why she is talking about vaccines at
the start.
Vaccines are usually part of a bigger picture. If vaccines caused a
problem, you've got a sycotic miasm, often from both parents; so, you
have an inherited picture to take into account and then you have the
manifestation of the disease. The vaccines are just one part of that
picture. I'm working with a lot of autistic children and I noticed that
there were some threads running through them and I started asking
questions and so far I've found out that 95% of the autistic children in
my practice have one or both parents with a history of cocaine use. If
you read Cocaine in the Materia Medica--the big picture--you'll see that
many of their symptoms are similar to autistic kids. There are a lot of
correspondences between the common symptoms in the proving and the
common symptoms in the disease in the children. Now then, we must not
get excited about that either. I did for a little bit, because it was so
interesting to me. The scientists who are researching autism had noticed
that too; that the increase in autism is multifactorial and can include
parental drug use, vaccinations, environmental toxins - and of course,
inherited factors, all play a part. I became especially interested in
cocaine because of the similarity of the proving symptoms to the common
symptoms in the autistic child: living in a world of their own,
unfeeling, obsessions - especially talking about one subject to the
exclusion of others, but, this is not a reason to give cocaine in
potency to every autistic child. I have given it one time where a
characteristic symptom in the child matched a characteristic symptom in
the remedy.
