From my experience, the "answers" haven't been found in thinking about it all,
though for many of us, cognition is our default method for discovery of
information. Honing my intuitive skills and developing perceptual awareness so
as to notice the clues in the moment - all issues in phenomenology - although
the greater challenge, have provided me with greater success in using
constellation work as a tool. For me, previous outcomes are both a help and a
hindrance, depending on the value placed on them. As I tune in to the
constellation, I keep an eye on the client and may continue to ask questions
about what the client is experiencing or further information about the family.
Sometimes what the client talks about has an effect on the behavior of the
representatives. Going back and forth between energy, reality and order, as
Bertold Ulsamer has taught, is also an effective means of taking small steps
along the way.
Perhaps this is all common knowledge, so I offer it for what it's worth. all

Thanks Gail for this thoughtful answer. If you haven't experienced
thisdirectly, it may be harder to understand. I have been in this role twiceand
seen it several times. As the representative, I had no content to mylooking but
my body felt taught with furtiveness and I was quiet as a mouseinside. I am
looking around but not at anything and it feels rather like Iam scouting out
the area. When I have asked other reps in this role what is going on for them,
theytypically answer, "I don't know. I just can't stop turning and looking."Dee
said it usually implies guilt and that actually does fit with myexperience in
the role. I do feel furtive as if I have done something"wrong" and might get
found out. Still, it is difficult to know what I havedone or who might find out
as the content is so missing. I guess that's theplay ground I need to explore
in bringing what is missing to light.Thank you for your suggestions. They are
very helpful and get me out of thebox of "perpetrator" questions. I do feel
like it is a big clue tosomething that I am not quite skilled enough to
understand. From:

energyHi Barbara,I haven't experienced this movement specifically but I am
happy toexplore it. And since others have already emphasised the need to
notdefine, I feel quite safe to explore defining. The more experience wehave of
the intricacies of situations to the point of enlanguaging themin expanding
ways the more we are able to be fully alive to what ishappening.Maybe your
uneasy response gives the clue to the meaning - Someoneturning around, looking
in all directions? Could be someone looking forthe something important that
might be missing - something so hidden thatthere isn't even a place to focus,
or something that wasn't in oneplace, or some other reason for the movement.
And if you remain uneasyafter the constellation perhaps it remained
unseen/unrecognised - orperhaps it was simply a feeling of not being able to
control everything.Families with entrenched loyalties to secrets sometimes only
thaw veryslowly. Sometimes the permission to see is a long time coming and
maynot be given in our lifetime - we are not so powerful even though theprocess
has that feeling of the miraculous about it sometimes. It is an open question
whether they would be the perpetrator or lookingfor the perpetrator (or a
completely different reason) it depends in theindividual situation - in your
recent experiences how did it seem to be?Did you place someone to represent
what was being looked for? Would thatplacement have made sense to the
representative who appeared to belooking? How did it feel when you stood with
the person for a while? What did the representative report about what they were
doing?A perpetrator maybe constantly looking around for a few reasons
-sometimes they live double lives so they need to be careful about whosees them
do what, or maybe it is a bit like the hunter and the prey, feelings of
defensiveness and looking for the next victim. Maybe therecan be a
hypervigilance reaction to trauma, needing to feel in controlof everything,
looking for safety....lots of reasons. Hope you can expand more about your
experience in thesesituations,Gail.--- In
