Hi Amina
just the human contact you give this burnt woman is worth its weight in gold.
Many people experience revulsion at the sight of such deformity and in the
presence of such intense pain. They can't just sit with it and the person
concerned. One way we try to deal with this intensity if we cannot hold it is
to try to "fix" it or "heal" it. So the very first step must be to do nothing
but just be with the person and their suffering. Then we need to wait until we
are called by the field to help if we want our help to be helpful. If we are
only treating our own discomfort it will agitate the patient deep down even if
they pretend to be appreciative.
One way to hold this suffering is to focus on your breathing and that of your
patient. Then notice any discomfort or revulsion that you might experience.
Notice how that feels in your body without feeding it or trying to get rid of
it. Just let it be. Let go of any story that enters your head about this
experience and simply come back to the physical sensations and the sense of
connection with this woman. As time passes you will notice shifts in the
sensations and in your connection with this woman.
You could then visualise her parents and her family supporting your patient and
in your heart you could bow with respect to them. That will further ground any
active interventions you might try. With these attitudes I am sure the best
interventions will come to you intuitively.
hasta la vista

Subject: [ConstellationTalk] Relief to burn victim
Hello,
I am working with a woman who is severely burnt, she is at the
hospital. My main focus is to help her deal with the pain, life and
death, sometimes hallucinations, etc. I wonder if anyone of you have
any experience with burn victims and whether anyone knows what would
be a good way to approach her pain. I use relaxation techniques with
her and she likes them a lot. I checked on the internet and found that
some virtual reality seem to be helpful. Probably I can use with the
relaxation more visualisation of cold... This is not for the time
being a systemic issue, my client is not capable of working on that
level yet.
Thank you,
Amina H
