From being in a family dynamic where there was child molestation and the
threat of the pattern repeating again, a big part of the issue lies in how
the other family members want to deny the possibility. The "innocent"
adults end up becoming perpetrators to the child who could have prevented or
protected the child from having to experience this.
If there are suspicions, the interest is in taking care of the child first.
Perhaps this is coming up in the family because it is a pattern in the
ancestors that has continued to happen and the movement is for the capable
adults to be in the parental role of caring for and watching over the child,
negotiating new ways of how the child interacts with this relative, without
demonizing the relative for stepping into this possible role..

I only have time for a very brief comment, but in light of the last
contribution, I am compelled...
I know for a fact this very circumstance can be very real and not a figment
of paranoid thinking or a need to validate parental projections.
Although certainly these phenomena exist and perhaps are common, I am sure
that there are children who are never asked and never tell that indeed there
are those on this planet who find the pretext of reading to children a
perfect cover and context for molestation.

One of my clients in India is concerned about a "trusted relative" who
reads books to a small child while touching the boys private parts. She is
asking me for information on how to recognize a pedofile,speciallt when this
person is a trusted relative. She just gave birth to first baby girl child.
