Time brings up some interesting philosophical questions. Once again,
constellation quickly meets paradox.
We consist of aspects which exist and die within time and space. And
yet, our essential, eternal self is not limited to time and space. While
our bodies and inner structures are affected by life experiences, the
presence that looks out our eyes is precisely the same as it has always
been. The looking when we were first able to see the world, itself has
remained unchanged to the looking at this moment.
Time is a relative measure of movement. In presence, there is no
movement. It has a timeless quality which provides stability in the ever
changing world. While one can look at time in terms of past, present and
future, our connections to our loved ones are instantaneous. We may
simultaneously feel things that affect our loved ones, though we are on
opposite sides of the globe. When people die, they are no longer here
in form, but we are still connected with them. I don't think that we are
now connecting with them in the past, but rather that our essential
presence connects with itself in the other, both of which are outside of
time.
If one considers that we are each of us the essence of our systems, then
we contain everything that has ever happened. As far as I can tell, we
are being and doing all that here and now. I see no reason to assume
that we change the past. Rather, we change the way the past is now
embodied in us. By bringing presence into contact with our inner
conditioning, we can update our inherited programming to current
circumstances. That is the essence of what we do in therapy.

I find this subject interesting too. Constellation work is the only

know in my own life where we or I find it perfectly normal that we are in
direct contact with events that happened in the past, and we can
change the
outcome of finish the movement even if we don't know what it is or when it
took place. And we work with these past events in the present time and we
know that this has an effect on the PAST! we have contact with the people
who have passed away and therefore are in the past, and we can influence
their inner peace in their soul with the work we do here.
And we can place a representative for something in the future and even
communicate with that. On the other hand the sensation in the
constellation
is sometimes completely here and now, if time has stopped and sometimes it
feels really ancient and sometimes it feels as if we get a glimpse of a
future.
The most remarkable thing of it all is that we consider this absolutely
normal.
In science they are aware of these possibilities too, and they do all
kinds
of experiments that confirm this influence that we have on situations
in the
present, the past en the future. They even have proof that we influence
things by looking at it, we know this so well in the constellation. The
power and the magic effect of saying to a representative: look at him.
So we have a lot of practical an philosophical insights about time and
space
(we also work non-local) and they have the scientific frame for it. A
beautiful marriage that would be if we could freely exchange and benefit
from each others knowledge.
If I listen to Gregg Braden's The spontaneous healing of belief for
example
(a 4 cd set) or the Divine Matrix, I am impressed and inspired by the
amount
of experiments, insights, conclusions and new questions that science is
already working with. They also know that time is not linear.
Happy Chanukah, Saint Nicolas, midwinter, Christmas and all other timeless
festivities that we celebrate all over the world. (and I wish we could
celebrate summer right now!)

Dear Friends,
I am becoming more interested in the effects of working with Time, or
working outside of Time.
I became aware about a year ago that the energy of 'What is' seems to
exist
outside of time, as though in a timeless fashion.
A little while after this I found that representatives were wanting to
be in
multiple places in Constellations, for example, ancestors or founders also
said they existed in front of protagonists, as though they were in the
future. Also as a more rigid sense of time seemed to leave the
Constellation
space, the space seemed to broaden and more elements seemed to say, "I am
the spirit of", maybe land, or the lost twin. Different things. To me it
seemed that with less of a structure of time, the work changed and had a
different way of evolving.
I find that a great way to learn something is to listen to
participants, as
they are the 'receivers' of what we do, and constellation work seems to
connect with the river of inner wisdom. Some said that time is just an
illusion, and does not really exist. Time is a structure we have made to
feel safe, like other structures and boundaries we make.
In the last few months i have made this more definite. At workshops I
don't
wear a watch any more and take clocks out of the room. I am much
stricter on
people turning off mobiles (recently I felt I was excluding mobiles and
should thank them in some way! Sometimes they deliver interesting messages
at workshops.)
This has led to some interesting effects, more cases, broader cases in the
same time.
Recently there was a funny situation where we had a three day workshop
with
a cooked lunch at a restaurant at a definite time and a definite
ending time
each day.
Six times we thought "is this a good time to stop?" and the organiser
said,
yes, its the perfect time.
So, I don't really know, maybe just allowing the system look after time is
supporting the work.
A thought that comes to me is that much of our work is rooted in time,
quite
sequential, "who came first etc". If we are different with time, what
happens then?
I would be very interested in your experiences.
