I'd like to support your point about relevancy of Rachel's email mentioning
a workshop addressing some issues discussed in the forum.
I think that we all can grow from informing about our new
initiatives/workshops/ideas (including business ideas).
I had a look at Rachel's website and it was interesting to see what she has
been doing; the same way I was looking at all other members of our forum
when something interesting was for me; every time when someone mentions
their website (like for example Dan or Angwyn's articles, or announcing the
American Intensive or other countries Intensives/conferences), there is
also a promotion of their business mentioned at the website. For me -
nothing wrong with this.
I believe that any information (and I mean - pure information) about SCW
related activities around the world - nourishes us all.
I understand though that some people think in terms of competition which
probably stems from an energy of lacking.
I propose to take a perspective of contribution and sharing. There is no
harm in sharing and there is a freedom in offering - until it'd be an
aggressive imposing.

First I want to be really clear that I don't even know Rachel.
Rachel's post was appropriate because she referred to her workshop in the
context of the ongoing conversation. It was highly relevant to that. she
was honest and modest in her portrayal of her workshop. so there is no
problem with that.
Secondly if any one else had written a similar appropriately timed post
that mentioned what they did in relation to the issue under discussion, and
had been attacked for self promotion I would have defended them in the same
way. In fact there are often posts like that that go though without any
complaint. So I was not endorsing Rachel but merely endorsing the
appropriateness of her contribution. As part of that endorsement I
mentioned how I found her contribution useful. I admit that goes one step
beyond saying that she had not breeched the guidelines but I saw that as
speaking to the spirit of the guidelines which is to provide a
conversational environment that is safe and helpful in the field of
constellation work. I hope that is clear.
