Absolutely Sheila, I've never thought of it in the way you've explained it.
I've always seen the right side as the leading side, the left as
'following', therefore I always place my client to my right as they are
leading their healing, not me. A way of subtely emphasisng their
responsibility in this process and re-affirming to myself that I am a mere
facilitator, not a doer.....so I sit on the left.
John
This responds to an issue quite a ways back, but I learned from Gunthardand
a number of the other experienced facilitators that when I place myself to"become"
the right of the client or even of the representative, I can easily
someone for them from their ancestry. With the client, it is easy tobecome
"mother" when I sit on their right side. So, I always have the client onmy
right when we sit and talk, and I approach a rep. from the left whenasking
how they are doing or what is going on with them. In addition, I haveheard
Bert say that "the client came before me", so in relation to the clientand
their issue, I am the small one, thus better placed to their left in theleft
order. On the other hand, I have a colleague who hears better from the
ear, so does things the opposite for that reason. One just need be awareof
this additional area for transference or confusion. all the best, sheila
