experienced myself. I remember doing constellations in the case of
"acquaintances" (people I know somewhat, but who are not friends), and they
proceeded well, with intensity and discoveries for the clients. I guess,
that my own worry regarding facilitation of a friend's constellation would
the loss of my openness, of my "not knowing", but from what I have seen
other facilitators do, this might be an issue which is very dependant on the
person facilitating, and the actual circunstances.
And a final comment that comes to mind. I remember a supervision
constellation in one of my training courses. The consulting facilitator
wanted to know if he could work a friend's issue. The instructor set up the
constellation, and it became quite apparent that the client had no
permission to go into this case.

In my upcoming workshop I will have many friends present. That is for me a
blessing. But it also means a challenge.
Many people have said that you should not "facilitate" (not sure you can
write it like this) a friends constellation.
I am focusing on asking the people on the workshop to agree that I shall
just be a facilitator during the workshop.
But I would like to know more about your arguments on the matter.
