Hi Mario, I understand what you mean regarding podcasts, but for many of us,
(well at least for me), time is something we don't have much of, and these
podcasts, to make them at a good quality, take time and effort. Many of us
have to work and do a billion other things, and I'm not saying that we don't
have time to help others (otherwise we wouldn't be on these lists), but
there are other things (like family and working to feed the family) that
take priority. Also, you can't cover everything in a podcast, and if you
tried, somebody would always still need something more to do or not fully
understand everything; that's why I chose to offer one-on-one training
services instead, so I can focus on that person's specific needs and their
learning style. I've actually thought about creating small detailed
tutorials on various things, not just with sonar, but other programs and
such as well, and list them for sale somewhere; this would complement my
training services as well. But I know of others who have tried this, and
they haven't sold anything, so I haven't pursued it further either. It's not
that people don't want training services or that they don't need it, as you
can see, many could use it, but one of 2 things might happen: people want
these things for free, or they can't afford it. Others might not even know
they're available. So it's that same issue of these things take time, and
nowadays, for many of us, time is a precious thing since we are so busy with
work and other commitments, and many of us have families we need to support,
which makes time and work even more valuable and necessary.
I could train people for free, make all these podcasts and such to teach
others on CT, Jsonar, Sound Forge, Reason, JAWS and many other programs, for
free as well, but what would happen when I have no money to pay my
utilities? They get shut off and I wouldn't be able to make any further
tutorials or offer further training lol.

I understand not everybody can afford these things or wants to, so I
personally try to work and accommodate people who might not be able to
afford it when they come to me for trainings or other services; I mainly do
it to help others, and because as far as I know there are not many others
who offer such services. I personally do the best I can, by helping on this
and other lists and offering my knowledge and experience. But when simple
help and answers don't do it through these lists, then I humbly suggest for
people to get someone (doesn't just have to be me) to train them. CT users
are lucky, they have the tutorial, others like JSonar users are stuck with
the sonar manual (which is a good read btw), but many of us have to figure
this stuff out on our own, by troubleshooting and persistently trying to get
it done.

So I write all this to somewhat explain why the making podcasts and such
things, while it sounds easy and simple, is not such a simple solution for
many of us.

Regards, D!J!X!

Hi,

I agree, It would also help to the Caketalking users from poor countries. I
know that doing a quality podcasts ascs a lots off time and preparations,
but if people from DD don't have time, it would be nice if experienced users
of Sonar 8.5 with Caketalking do a podcasts on how to use different features
of the program. There are few sites out there, like for example Blind geek
zone where is easy to put a created podcasts.

www.blindgeekzone.net

I know that everyone is not as good in doing podcasts for blind like for
example Mr Neal Ewers, but it would be nice to hear some active members of
this list like D J X, Tim Burgess, Rue Villar Inho, Neville Peter and so on.
